Gratitude and ‘Paying it Forward’

woodenI spent some time today looking back at my blog posts from the beginning of the Master Key Experience and I found myself immersed in the beauty of those initial challenging weeks of discovery.  It’s hard to believe that 10 months have passed since I embarked on this one-way trip known as The Hero’s Journey.  It began one day last September when an unlikely email hit my bloated inbox. One which, on any other day I might have ignored or deleted since I lived in a chronic state of “overwhelm”.  Even more amazing – I actually opened it!  It was the 1st launch video for the 2014 Master Key course.  There I sat listening to Mark Januszewski, a face and voice I recognized from a distant past, passionately sharing his story, which hit me square in the heart.  Mark referred to a pivotal moment in his life when he was having what he called one of his “pity parties”.  I sat listening, dumbfounded, because I felt like he was describing ME!  I was burnt out and my business was stagnant after years of multitasking, training, enabling and care-taking. I had served my business association for over a decade as a recognized “leader” and in the process, committed gross neglect of my own goals and dreams.  Simply put, my priorities did not line up with my heart. I procrastinated, had poor boundaries, talked too much and listened too little.  For years I had been walking through life half asleep, perpetually in a state of scattered consciousness and personal unrest.
imgres-1I wanted liberty, freedom and to achieve so much more.  I wanted to become an outstanding leader and through my own success, inspire others into taking action so they could realize their goals and dreams.  Undoubtedly, the answer lied within ME, but I had no idea where to begin.  These were the dominating thoughts of my mind….all day long!

I’ve since come into the realization that we bring about what we think about!

BOOM!!  The MKMMA launch video arrived.  Talk about manifesting!  I immediately knew this was what I was looking for. Here was something different….a personal experience that could help me discover my gifts, my purpose, bring harmony and balance back into my life.  Something to help me create the future I wanted. They said it was a scholarship – seriously?  All I had to do was apply.  They said it would take daily effort for 6 months, ~45 mins/day, investing in myself.  No hesitation here. Then Mark said this: we’d learn how to ELIMINATE Fear and Procrastination permanently……not overcome…..eliminate.  I was all in!

7972053_origLast September, someone cared enough about me to pay it forward.  All year I had a feeling I knew who sent me that email – and recently I had the opportunity to ask him.  Thank you, Tom. You gave me the immeasurable gift of self-discovery and I will be forever grateful.

As I continue my journey I’m honored to be training with Mark, Davene and their incredible staff to become a Certified Guide.  It’s my turn to pay it forward. Helping people help themselves, answer the call to adventure and walk into the exhilarating abyss of the Hero’s Journey. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Wow, Lori! This is so on-the-ball, that I realize I just nodded my head through it all. This course has been such a blur that I don’t even remember how I got here. Boy, am I grateful I did! Your innate leadership and abilities make you an amazing guide. Congrats, and enjoy your journey as you help others along theirs!
